REV UP for LR Portal Unveiled

SDO Masbate Province marks another milestone!

REV UP (Revitalize, Enabling, Vision, Unlimited, Program) for Learning Resource (LR) Portal in SDO Masbate Province was presented by Mr. Juancho P. Azares, EPS-1 LRMDS, during a planning conference with the LR development team on March 3, 2021 at the SDO LRMS office , Masbate City .

Azares explained the concept of the entire project to all the participants and discussed its vision and mission. He also reiterated the objective of the project and presented series of graphical posters, ads and other teacher-developed learning materials which will be uploaded on the website. He also emphasized that only original materials are accepted to be downloaded in the LR website in order to avoid copyrights issues. As content providers for SDO Masbate Province LR portal, all contributors should exercise due diligence in submitting and uploading resources such as graphics, sounds, and literature with consent from the original author. He recapitulated the importance of original works and content.

The said prestigious project was supported by the top management of the SDO Masbate Province. ASDS Fernando C. Macaraig, Chief Education Supervisor Ma. Dorothy L. Daniel and Schools Division Superintendent Nene R. Merioles were present during the development meeting. SDS Nene R. Merioles congratulated the creative team which is composed of 30 potential teachers from different districts. Her words of encouragement were indeed a breath of fresh air to all the LR development team attendees. She expressed her gratitude to all the teachers who are working hard just to provide quality education to all Masbateño learners.

During the consortium, ASDS Macaraig also inspired and encouraged the teachers saying, “It’s the first of its kind in the province as well as in the entire Philippines”. “You will be part of the history in the making”, he continued. He even challenged the team by giving insights and background regarding the status of the learning resources managed by the department of education.

Mr. Martin A. Espayos, SDO Masbate Province SHS Coordinator, also gave his words of encouragement and explained that there will be a designated spot in the LR website for SHS learning materials developed by SHS teachers. Its focal point is giving the SHS teachers better know-how in securing all their learning resources necessary for teaching. In such way , they will be able to curtail time in sorting learning materials for classroom use and devote more time in teaching.

Mr. Benjamin T. Montes, the head of the LR creative team, officially displayed the awaited LR website and explained the overall content and theme. He informed the team of the projected timeline which includes the deadline of submission of manuscripts, related artwork, and content.

The REV UP project is the first of its kind in the entire Region 5, high hopes and eagerness stirred up as the official launching of the said project will soon happen to open more opportunities to all educators, students, and stakeholders alike.

 In closing, Azares further discussed the upcoming line up of activities for the LR portal, the anticipated virtual launching on June 10, 2021.
