In order to synchronize the efforts of the region with that of the central office along provision of quality learning resources that support modular distance learning, the CO sets guidelines along the development of LAS.
LAS may the prepared and developed by teachers with the guidelines of the division learning area supervisors and school heads. The LAS will advantage the teachers who can decide on activities that are most suitable for learners. This will also address the insufficiency of funds for printing and risks on copyright infringement.
The LAS is designed to have the following parts:
I – Introductory concept/ Panimulang Konsepto
This part will provide background on the main concept/s learned. This will also introduce and describe activities that the learner will do. It is important that this part will motivate the learner to do/ perform the tasks.
II – Activities/ Mga Gawain
- This part will present the different activities that will deepen the learner’s understanding of a skill or concept. Activities may vary from paper & pencil task, game, literary work, creative expression (drawing, sketching, song writing), research, blog, vlog, etc, whatever is appropriate, suitable and doable. As much as possible, the chosen activities will activate the learner’s senses for maximum learning.
- The teacher will decide on the number of activities. The Directions/ Instructions / Panuto for every activity must be simple and clear to be understood by learners and home learning partners.
- Learners may be asked to refer to an activity, reading selection or lesson content found in an available textbook, workbook or learner’s material
III – Rubric for Scoring/Rubrik sa Pagpupuntos (if necessary)
This will be needed to evaluate performance, a product, or a project, if part of the tasks.

In our division, preparation of LAS for Q3 weeks 1-4 is done by all schools and was prioritized during the school-based INSET while Q3 weeks 5-8 and Q4 weeks 1-8 by the assigned districts and was closely monitored by the learning area supervisors and LR manager.
